he Lampung Police headquarters has formed a team to pursue the killers of Beni Faisal, 42, chief editor of the Fokus Lampung weekly, who was shot dead in front of his home in Bandar Lampung on Sunday evening.
'We are building the case and have yet to determine the motives behind the murder,' said Lampung Police chief Brig. Gen. Heru Winarko in Bandar Lampung on Tuesday.
He added that the case was being handled by the Bandar Lampung City Police, assisted by a team from the Lampung Police headquarters's violent crime unit, and hoped the perpetrators would be arrested immediately and face justice.
The Lampung Police have deployed three special teams to pursue the perpetrators who shot and killed Beni, a resident of the Way Kandis housing complex in Bandar Lampung's Tanjung Senang district.
Based on current allegations, the motive of the shooting was motorcycle theft. However, the perpetrators have not been identified and the intent of the attack remains unclear. (***)
