The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened on a positive note on Friday as it climbed by 0.54 percent to 5,291.06.
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data revealed 141 stocks strengthened by 9 a.m. on Friday, while 59 stocks weakened and 84 stocks remained unchanged, kontan.co.id reported.
The volume of share trade during the first trading session involved 985.84 million shares worth Rp 1.35 trillion (US$106.93 million).
In addition, shares in nine out of 10 sectors traded on the IDX successfully made improvements in the morning, with miscellaneous industries recording the highest growth with a jump of 1.35 percent.
Following were the trade and financial sectors, which rose by 1.04 percent and 0.76 percent, respectively.
PT Indo Tambangraya (ITMG), PT Harum Energy (HRUM) and PT Waskita Karya (WSKT) were the LQ45 index's highest gainers.
Meanwhile, in the regional market, Hong Kong's Hang Seng and Japan's Nikkei went up by 0.04 percent and 0.44 percent, respectively, on Friday morning. (nfo)
