I have to say that I am fed up with the repeated lies coming from the authorities responsible for the QZ SAR updates.
This was one recent statement:
'Officials decided to raise the fuselage, but ropes and cables broke during the effort Saturday and Sunday and they weren't able to raise it above the surface to load it onto a vessel. Other parts of the aircraft that remain at the bottom of the sea include the cockpit, the engines and the wings.'
The aircraft's tail and voice and flight data recorder were recovered earlier this month. We certainly know of the failure to lift the main hull over the weekend but nothing has been said about the attempted raising of the entire wing section that staggers the central fuselage (the section that houses the main wing spar), which was unceremoniously raised to the stern of the offshore support vessel. The winch obviously attempted to pull the wing's central section over the stern but the wing was too wide for the deck space resulting in the cable snapping and the wing falling back into the sea.
We are looking here at untold damage to the airframe, i.e. the tail and wings and now also the mail hull, making the investigation that much more difficult in reconstructing exactly what happened!
