Police in Jambi city are questioning a man about alleged fraud in fertilizer distribution.
Jambi City Police's deputy chief of detectives, Adj. Comr, Deni Mulyadi said the arrest followed a joint raid by the police and the military at a warehouse in Eka Jaya in South Jambi, where the fertilizer was stockpiled.
'The suspect skimmed about 3 kilograms from each 50-kg sack of subsidized fertilizer before distributing them,' Deni said Sunday.
The police have yet to arrest the suspect, identified only by his initial Y, as they are conducting a deeper investigation into the case and plan to question more people. 'The suspect is a major subsidized-fertilizer distributor in the Muara Sabak area in East Tanjung Jabung regency,' Deni said. (***)
