span style="letter-spacing: -0.1px;">Airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II has requested the police to help secure the Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatra, as it is considered to be vulnerable to crime.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the cooperation was signed on Thursday by the company and the Deli Serdang Police.
General Manager of the company's Kualanamu airport office, Jaya Tahoma Sirait, said the MoU was aimed at a joining of forces by both institutions to secure the airport from various crimes such as terrorism, trafficking, illegal taxis and theft.
'With the cooperation Kualanamu airport hopefully will be safe and comfortable in all respects,' said Sirait, adding that the cooperation would be effective as of March 1.
