motorcyclist identified as Warsono, 63, was killed after being hit by a train at a railway crossing in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Monday morning.
Kebayoran Lama Police chief Comr. Riftazudin said on Monday that Warsono had been warned by nearby people as he was about to cross the railway line. At the time, a train was coming from the direction of Pondok Ranji in South Tangerang en route to Tanah Abang in Central Jakarta.
'However, he ignored the warnings and insisted on crossing the railway track. He was hit and smashed into a concrete barrier, which resulted in his death,' Riftazudin told reporters.
Previously on Sunday evening 53-year-old Didin Husen was found dead following a similar accident, after he attempted to cross an unguarded railway line in Rajawati, Pancoran, South Jakarta.
Both victims were taken by police to Fatmawati Hospital in South Jakarta for postmortem examinations.
