he Indonesian Military (TNI) and the police began a three-day leadership meeting to enhance consolidation in launching Jokowi's mental revolution.
During the three-day meeting, President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo was scheduled to deliver his keynote speech.
'For today's meeting we plan give the stage to the President to deliver his keynote speech on future changes,' spokesman for the National Police Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Tuesday.
He said that the first day was for military and police officials, the second day was a leadership meeting for police officials and the last day was a leadership meeting for military officials.
'Today, all of the military and police officials will attend the meeting. But tomorrow the meeting will be only for police officials,' he said as quoted by Antara news agency.
He added that on the second day, all provincial police chiefs would listen to a presentation from the deputy police chief.
'Although the police do not yet have a definitive chief, Deputy Police Chief Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti has been mandated as acting police chief and he has authority to give instructions to all personnel in the police organization,' he said, adding that Badrodin was waiting for a fit and proper test to win political endorsement from the House of Representatives for his inauguration as a police chief.
Rikwanto explained that the police leadership meeting was aimed at improving internal consolidation in the police organization and seeking solutions to numerous major problems faced by the police.
Also attending the opening ceremony was Coordinating Minister for Political, Law and Security Affairs Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, Badrodin, Navy Chief Admiral Ade Supandi, Army Chief Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo, Air Force Chief Marshal Agus Supriyatna, Minister for Administrative Reforms Yuddhy Krisnandi and National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Chief Marciano Norman. (rms)
