T

he government has acknowledged that the Islamic State (IS) militant group has a new way of recruiting people: tourism activities.

'€œThere is a new mode of IS member recruitment through tour activities,'€ Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno said on Tuesday.

He said that the National Police and the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) had gathered data on the new mode of recruitment.

Tedjo said that some Indonesians had gone abroad on tour to the Middle East and then had disappeared.

He said that people intending to travel abroad, especially to the Middle East, who had no clear intent or purpose should be monitored.
