Ferrari's RI sales top Asean market

E

ven though the nation'€™s macroeconomic situation has fluctuated for the past few years, Indonesia remains at the top when it comes to sales of the luxury Italian car brand Ferrari in the Southeast Asian market.

Arie Christopher, CEO of Ferrari's authorized distributor in Indonesia, PT Citra Langgeng Otomotif, said that around 35 percent of the prancing horse sales in Asean came from the Indonesian market.

Arie added that the sales of the car grew by between 14 and 20 percent annually in the country.

"There has been an impact from the government'€™s 125 percent PPnBM [luxury goods sales taxes] which shocked customers. But overall, our sales are still on track," he said as quoted by kompas.com on Friday, adding that PT Citra Langgeng Otomotif sold up to 60 Ferrari cars last year.

He said the firm had yet to set its sales target for this year due to the fluctuations of the rupiah.

"We want the growth to continue between 14 and 20 percent this year, but we are not able to decide on our target at the moment," he added.

The cheapest Ferrari sold in the country is the California T type with a price tag of US$680,000 off road. (nfo)(++++)
