National scene: Aburizal says fight is not over

T

he camp of Golkar Party chairman Aburizal Bakrie says the camp of Agung Laksono should not be doing victory laps since Aburizal still claims the party leadership.

A member of Aburizal'€™s camp, Bambang Soesatyo, who is also the secretary of the Golkar Party faction in the House of Representatives, warned leaders of local party branches against joining Agung'€™s camp.

'€œThe party tribunal has made no decision. So please don'€™t easily get provoked,'€ Bambang said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Bambang said that the tribunal'€™s ruling could not be accepted as only two out of the four members on the panel ruled in favor of Agung'€™s camp.

Earlier this week the party'€™s dispute tribunal upheld the leadership of Agung Laksono, a former coordinating minister for people'€™s welfare, when two of its members recognized Agung'€™s chairmanship, while the other two declined to issue a recommendation.

Aburizal'€™s side has decided to withdraw its petition to the Supreme Court for a cassation of an earlier verdict issued by the West Jakarta District Court on the dispute, which had recommended the factions resolve their dispute internally, and officially filed a fresh lawsuit with the court.
