Group B consists of Japan, Chinese Taipei and the US, while 2013 runner-up South Korea is pitted against India and Malaysia in Group D.
The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has urged the players to achieve the goal of reaching the final.
'I can't disclose the players' names yet. For sure, we have told the team to focus there,' Rexy Mainaky, PBSI's chief in charge of development and achievement, said as quoted by Antara.
The biennial tournament is named after Indonesian badminton figure Dick Sudirman. Indonesia won the first and only title when the tournament was first hosted in Jakarta in 1989. It later reached the final six times, all ending in defeats. The tournament will also feature matches contested by another 23 lower-ranked teams, split in three groups.
