tate-owned residence developer Perum Perumnas is set to build a low-cost apartment complex of 18 towers, each with 24 storys, in Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
Perum Perumnas president director Himawan Arief Sugoto said the 18 towers would provide 5,000 new units to be sold to low-income workers.
'We will invest around Rp 1.5 trillion [US$115 million] to build the 18 towers and will start the construction soon. The apartment units will be sold, not rented. We will comply with the regulations from the Jakarta administration to determine which residents may purchase a unit,' Himawan told reporters after meeting Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama at City Hall on Tuesday.
Separately, Ahok said that only residents with a monthly income lower than Rp 5 million might purchase a unit.
