Greater Jakarta: Commuter train adds 115 trips

tarting on April 1, electric train operator PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) will increase trips on its commuter line from 757 to 872 trips each day.

KCJ operational director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said the firm would operate 69 additional trains, 40 of which would be deployed to serve West Jakarta'€™s Jakarta Kota and West Java'€™s Depok to Bogor route.

Further, the Jakarta to Bekasi route will get an additional 12 trips, while the route serving Tanah Abang in Central Jakarta to Serpong, Parung and Maja in Tangerang, Banten, will get 10 additional trips. The KCJ will also add a number of trains to act as feeders for several routes.

Dwiyana said the firm would make changes to its train schedules to adjust for the additional trips. Next month, the KCJ will also change the per-station tariff calculation into a per-kilometer tariff system.
