em>Your comments on the issuance of a gubernatorial regulation on the city budget by Jakarta Governor Basuki '€œAhok'€ Tjahaja Purnama, after he failed to secure approval from the City Council following a long dispute between the governor and the majority of city councilors:

What we need is transparency. The procedures from scratch to the final list must be clear for us the people to see and reviewbefore the legislation is approved.

At last the city of Jakarta has found a suitable governor, who doesn'€™t want to be a tool of his corrupt City Council.

The City Council seemed to have taken a smart step, promising to share the loot with city officials to force the governor'€™s hand.

This time, however, the City Council has met its match in a governor who sincerely does not want to pilfer the people'€™s cash.

The councilors fought hard to have their indecent proposals pushed through, but Ahok stood his ground, not giving an inch to the rotten council.

I have no hesitation to call out '€œWe need more Ahoks!'€

According to a survey, 70 percent of Jakartans support the governor.

The fact is the people in Jakarta need transparent information related to the draft city budget, so they can evaluate and comment before the draft is proposed to the Home Ministry.

This conflict should be brought to an end and they should stop attacking each other.

Work for the people!

It'€™s obvious they have no knowledge of regulations or the law as they seem to think that thieving is legal.

The City Council indicated that Ahok violated some regulations and laws.

However, they seem to have little knowledge of regulations and law so they need a legal opinion. There'€™s not one morally sound person in that group.

The Jakarta governor has made the right decision to issue a gubernatorial regulation on the city budget.

Better a lower budget than one full of holes and drains.
