he Regional Elections Commission (KPUD) in Batanghari regency in Jambi is planning to work with local administrations to update the data of the indigenous Suku Anak Dalam people who are eligible to vote in the upcoming regional elections.
Commission chairman M. Amin Hudhori said the Suku Anak Dalam tribe, also known as the Orang Rimba, would be given the same rights as other citizens.
'Tribe members eligible for voting will be included in the voters list [known as the DPT],' Amin said Sunday.
A total of 1,787 Orang Rimba were listed as voters during last year's presidential election. A total of 1,090 of those were included in the DPT in the Bajubang district and the remaining 697 in the Maro Sebo Ulu district.
