olice have named two Golkar Party cadres loyal to former coordinating minister for people's welfare Agung Laksono suspects in the use of fake mandates in the Ancol congress that elected Agung as new party chairman, replacing Aburizal Bakrie for the 2015-2020 period.
Chairman of the party's patron board, Akbar Tandjung, said the police's move to hold the two as suspects may influence the lawsuit filed by Aburizal's camp against Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H. Laoly, who issued a ministerial decree recognizing the Agung-led executive board elected during the Golkar's congress in Ancol, North Jakarta, in December, 2014.
'[That is,] at least based on spreading the opinion that the Ancol congress was held in violation of the law. But it must be proven that two congress participants used invalid letters to attend the event. The police should investigate the case thoroughly,' he said.
Besides filing a lawsuit with the State Administrative Court, Aburizal's camp also reported the Ancol congress to the police. (rms)(++++)
