Previous years have been plagued with late distribution, resulting in some schools holding the exam a week later than scheduled. This year, more than 2.8 million final year students from 11,914 high schools and
vocational schools will take the national exams, which will be conducted for three days beginning Monday April 13.

This year also marks the first time some schools will try out a computer-based national exam system that the ministry touted as more efficient and less vulnerable to cheating. Minister Anies said that 585 schools nationwide had been given the green light, as they were well equipped.

Your comments:

It seems like this particular minister knows what he'€™s doing. Let'€™s just hope it won'€™t be a mess like last years'€™ exams.

I hope there is no blackout, because it would disturb the computer-based exam test.

The education ministry has rolled out a new system of national exams by a computer. I think it'€™s not great decision, because as we know, many schools don'€™t have good facilities.

Many schools don'€™t have enough computers.

For using a computer-based test (CBT), the government must be responsible for providing adequate facilities because not all schools have computers and Internet, especially in remote areas.

Nita Rosmayani

Regarding the national exam that uses computers, I think it is less effective, because not all schools can provide the same facility.

Anyway, many students have problems with their eyes and cannot look at the computer screen for too long. It seems better to use the old method.

Besides making students more thorough and careful, it can also make students feel that the exam is a final judgment, where they have to work with great precision and be accurate and careful.
