fter launching smartphone applications Qlue and CROP in the Google Play Store for Android devices earlier this year, the city administration will soon make the application available through the Apple App Store.
Qlue is a crowd-sourcing smartphone application for residents with which users can report various matters, such as flooding, illegal garbage dumps, potholes and poor pedestrian facilities.
Once the complaints are made, city officials are obligated to give responses through the CROP Jakarta smartphone application. Both are part of the Jakarta Smart City program. Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama said he would also take into account the officials' responses in the CROP application during civil servant evaluations.
Communications and Information Agency head Ii Karunia said that the city administration is set to launch the application in the Apple App Store for Apple devices next week.
Currently, he said, his agency was working on last-minute improvements to the application with developer PT Terralogiq before the official launch.
Ii said his agency would this year receive Rp 31 billion (US$2.4 million) for the development of the Jakarta Smart City program.
