ozens of security officers forcibly dismissed a meeting held by roughly 100 residents of Kalibata City Apartments at the complex's Jasmine Tower in South Jakarta on Saturday.
Resident spokesperson Umi Hanik said the meeting was aimed at establishing a tenants and owners association (P3SRS), which would be tasked with supervising management policies.
'We hope a resident-managed association will be able to solve the resident's problems,' she said as quoted by kompas.com.
The general manager of Kalibata City Apartments, Evans Wallad, said the meeting was held illegally, as residents had submitted a notification letter, not a request to use the room. He said management had formed a temporary committee on March 5 consisting of residents in the apartment to help find solutions.
