Bell helicopter operated by the Army crashed near the runaway of Ahmad Yani airport in Semarang on Tuesday morning, causing delays to scheduled flights.
Angkasa Pura I, the operator of the airport, announced that the airport was being temporarily shut down between 8:20 a.m. and 9:35 a.m. to allow for the removal of the helicopter.
'The schedules of two airlines ' Kalstar and Sriwijaya Air ' had to be delayed due to the incident," said Ankasa Pura spokesman Anom Fitranggono, as quoted by Kompas.com.
No details of casualties were reported as the Army refused to issue any statement. (ren)
