he Finance Ministry's directorate general of taxation imprisoned on Wednesday two businessmen, identified only as BLD and ZS, for evading taxes to the amounts of Rp 1.69 billion (US$131,000) and Rp 326 million, respectively.
BLD ran a company in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, while ZS had a firm in Yogyakarta, the tax office said.
In a press statement, the directorate said that BLD and ZS had been detained in separate penitentiaries in Jakarta.
Improved law enforcement is expected to deliver Rp 22.5 trillion in tax revenues by year-end, according to the tax office's calculations.
