JAKARTA: Former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has called out President Joko âJokowiâ Widodo for shifting the blame for all the countryâs problems to his administration
AKARTA: Former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has called out President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo for shifting the blame for all the country's problems to his administration.
Yudhoyono said every administration had its own problems and that it was not fair for the new administration to blame its predecessor.
'Just focus on the job at hand. Do not blame past administrations too often, including the government that I led,' Yudhoyono said in a speech at a Democratic Party youth wing organization congress in Jakarta on Friday.
He also called on Jokowi to maintain the legacies he had left after 10 years in office.
'Just keep them. There's no need to discard them, that's the essence of good leadership,' he said.
Earlier in April, Yudhoyono advised his successor to press on with his job and prove to the people that he could do it, even in the face of severe criticism.
