A medium-strength earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale shook East Sumba regency in East Nusa Tenggara on Sunday evening.
Head of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency in Kupang, Sudaryono, said the earthquake's epicenter was 108 kilometers south of Waingapu at a depth of 12 kilometers.
'So far there are no reports of fatalities or damage triggered by the quake in Waingapu,' kompas.com quoted him as saying.
On Saturday, another tremor measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale also jostled Southeast Maluku regency in Maluku and Morotai Island in North Maluku. There were no fatalities reported. (rms)(++++)
