entral Java Police chief Insp.Gen.Noer Ali has said the police are ready for the executions of nine death row inmates, reported to be held soon in the Nusakambangan prison island in Cilacap, Central Java.
"I, as the Central Java Police chief, have carried out a comprehensive security check in preparing the implementation of executions in Cilacap," he said as quoted by Antara, accompanied by Jakarta Prosecutors' Office chief M. Adi Toegarisman at the Wijaya Pura dock in Cilacap, on Tuesday.
Noer Ali said the police had checked the readiness not only of the police officers who would carry out the duty but also supporting facilities for the executions. (ebf)(+++)
