Participating countries in the Asian-African Conference Commemoration (AACC) will make the most of the chance to hold meetings between relevant figures from the two continents, including by exchanging ideas on sustainable urban development.
The opportunity will be made available in Bandung, West Java, on April 22 and 23 during the 2015 Asia Africa Smart City Summit (AASCS).
Your comments:
Unlike many countries on the African continent, Indonesia has had the opportunity to address 'overpopulation ['¦] pollution, a shortage of energy, housing problems and poor public transportation'. But they haven't. This is a developing economy where public transportation like kopaja, metro minis, mikrolet and taxis block multiple lanes of traffic as they pick up and drop off passengers, or slow traffic as they look for customers. That's one example of the hypocrisy here.

Get rid of corruption and the city will automatically become smarter.

Start by making your citizens smarter by stopping them from stealing.

Here is a good start for making smarter cities: smarten-up education and politics, remove religion from any decision-making process, hunt down corruption like it was the cancer of the universe (which it is, actually) and magic will happen.

It's quite laughable, really, that representatives of countries whose cities suffer from most of the 'ills' are all meeting to exchange ideas on creating smart cities. It is to be hoped that the representative from Singapore will be the one most listened-to.
