he South Jakarta District Court is scheduled to make a final decision on the pretrial petition filed by former minister of energy and mineral resources Jero Wacik concerning his suspect status on Tuesday.
Jero has been named a graft suspect for his alleged involvement in two graft cases at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and the Tourism and Culture Ministry.
In a previous hearing, judge Sihar Purba accepted the objection by Jero's lawer Hinca Panjaitan to two witnesses proposed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) because the two were active staff members of the commission.
Jero was named a graft suspect for allegedly abusing his power as culture and tourism minister in 2008 through 2011 and as energy and mineral resources minister in 2011-2013, which, according to the KPK, caused Rp 7 billion in state losses. (rms)(+++)
