he Jakarta administration and the Jakarta Police will implement a Car Free Day policy during May Day on Friday to make way for citizens to hold the yearly rallies.
Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama said that motor vehicles would be banned along Jl. Sudirman in South Jakarta and Jl. MH Thamrin in Central Jakarta, similar to the weekly Car Free Day every Sunday.
"The city administration and the police are planning a Car Free Day during May Day. From early morning until the afternoon, cars will not be allowed on the routes, so that rallies can freely be held," Ahok announced to reporters at City Hall in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.(+++)
