inister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya has questioned the status of a 47,000 hectare-palm oil plantation in Padang Lawas, North Sumatra, that has been confiscated from jailed businessman DL Sitorus.
The plantation's status was a crucial issue that was discussed by the minister with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and relevant authorities such as the military, the National Police and the State Enterprises Ministry at the KPK building on Tuesday.
Deputy KPK Chairman Johan Budi said the Supreme Court had confiscated the plantation from Sitorus in 2006 and the confiscation was aimed at preserving the plantation area and its surrounding natural resources.
"This is the crucial issue that we will discuss. The KPK in line with its preventive function want to discuss it with the relevant authorities," he said as quoted by Kompas.com.
