OGOR: In a bid to eradicate illegal levies, the Bogor Integrated Licensing Service and Investment Agency (BPPTPM) has launched an online permit registration system.
Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto said during the launch ceremony on Thursday that the new system aimed to boost the performance of the permit issuance service in Bogor, so residents could enjoy a fast and affordable permit process.
'The new system will also be more transparent as information on the progress of the permit can be accessed by applicants,' he said.
Arya said all payments would be transferred through banks.
'Information on the amount of the fee, the bank and the account are clear. Hence, rampant illegal levies can be ended,' he said.
He said the BPPT-PM was also planning to facilitate the permit issuance with text messages in which applicants could receive information on whether their permits had been completed via text messaging.
'We have been preparing the facility. It will be launched this year,' he said.
According to BPPT-PM data, the agency issued 8,700 permits last year. Most included building permits (IMB), business permits (SIUP), company registrations (TDP), nuisance permits and billboard permits.
