URABAYA: The East Java Tax Office has arrested a motorcycle dealer, identified as DN alias A, for alleged tax fraud amounting to Rp 2.8 billion (US$215,000).
Tax office head Nader Sitorus said DN, the owner of PT KMPRA, had intentionally not reported his company's tax annual reports for two years.
'We have given him three summonses but he ignored them, so we cooperated with the East Java Prosecutor's Office to arrest him,' Nader said on Thursday.
He said DN would be charged under Law No. 6/1983 on taxation, which carried a maximum punishment of six years in prison and a maximum fine of four times of the tax arrears in question.
