Greater Jakarta: Exam paper distribution begins

N

ational examination papers for junior high schools in Jakarta had begun to be distributed to school districts, ahead of being picked up on Monday morning by the principal of each school, an official said on Saturday.

The papers arrived in Jakarta from printing company PT Temprina Media Grafika in Sidoarjo, East Java, on Friday evening, the agency said.

Education Agency head Arie Budiman said as quoted by beritajakarta.com that there were five school districts in Jakarta and 23 school subdistricts. He said the exam sheet distribution was carried out by PT Pos Indonesia, and escorted by the police.

'€œIn total, there are 2,869 boxes of exam sheets, containing 34,895 envelopes. All are sealed,'€ Arie said on Saturday.

The agency'€™s data showed that this year there were 149,172 students participating in the junior high school national exam. Six students would sit the exam from Cipinang Penitentiary in East Jakarta, according to the agency.

The only school that would use a computer-based test was private junior high school SMP BPK Penabur 2 in Central Jakarta, Arie said.

'€œThis year, there are 179 schools whose students will take the exam not in their own school because of the building conditions. Or if there is a school that has less than 20 students sitting for the exam, we send them to another school,'€ Arie went on.
