he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the police and the Attorney General's Office have held a closed-door meeting to coordinate their fight against corruption.
Attending the meeting were KPK chairman Taufiequrachman Ruki, KPK deputy chairman Johan Budi, National Police chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti and Attorney General M. Prasetyo.
Prasetyo said after the meeting that they discussed cooperation among the three institutions in handling corruption cases.
'We discussed inter-institution cooperation and the development of synergy to fight corruption. The KPK has big authority to handle graft cases but it is running short of human resources while the AGO and the police have many investigators and are ready to lend a helping hand,' he said.
Johan said such a coordination meeting would be held regularly in the future.
'We are planning to set up a task force from the three institutions. We also discussed corruption in natural resources,' he said as quoted by kompas.com. (rms)(+++)
