he Indonesia Ombudsman in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) found at least 80 sheets of national examination answer keys for junior high school (SMP) students that were about to be reproduced in Mataram on Tuesday
The NTB Ombudsman head, Adhar Hakim, said that the answer keys for math exams were about to be reproduced and distributed from several Internet cafes at about 5:15 a.m. in Mataram.
"Based our monitoring, the SMP students from several places went to the Internet cafes to scan and reproduce the [printed] materials. We foiled the attempt and secured the sheets," Adhar said.
He further said that the ombudsman had coordinated with the education agencies of Mataram and NTB so as to increase security.
"The students [who tried to reproduce the answer keys] are victims. We have no plan to report the case to the police. If the case were to be reported to the police, just the persons behind [the duplication and distribution] should be investigated," he said.
Junior high school students are taking the national exams from Monday to Thursday. (++++)
