E-commerce giant the Lazada Group revealed its plan to launch a Muslimwear collection on its website approaching the Islamic fasting month in June
-commerce giant the Lazada Group revealed its plan to launch a Muslimwear collection on its website approaching the Islamic fasting month in June.
The collection will be launched under LZD, the company's clothing line, and one of the brands showcased in their fashion category called Zada.
"We have thought about launching a Muslimwear collection since last year during our first clothing line launch. But at that time, the fasting month had already passed," Lazada Indonesia public relation manager Tania Amalia told The Jakarta Post over the phone on Wednesday.
The LZD premium collection was first introduced during Jakarta Fashion Week in November 2014.
The LZD high-street wear collection, which includes products such as bags and shoes, does not currently include Muslimwear.
Meanwhile, Zada, did feature some Muslimwear, Tania said.
The move is based on the company's assessment of its market, which is dominated by Muslim women.
The company operates in six countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Tania, however, stated that the date of the launch was still tentative as well as the details of the collection, but it might not stray too far from the brand's current signature style. (fsu/nvn)
