he 2015 Alor Indonesian Expedition Team has commemorated National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) in Alor waters, with divers from the team unfurling the Indonesian flag underwater.
Media team leader Citra Putri Sakinna told The Jakarta Post on Thursday that the 107th Harkitnas observance by the 2015 Alor Expedition Team was held by unfurling the Indonesian flag in three places simultaneously.
Putri said the first ceremony was held at the Kalabahi city soccer field, led by Alor Deputy Regent Imran Duru.
'This year the commemoration of Harkitnas was also observed in two other places, on the peak of Mount Koya-Koya [at an elevation of 1,800 meters above sea level] and 15 meters below Alor waters,' said Putri.
She added that the ceremony on the peak of Mt. Koya-Koya, the highest mountain on Alor Island, was led by Second Let. Khoir Abdullah and joined by 30 members from the Indonesian Military (TNI), National Police, students and the East Alor community.
