A jury sentenced Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death Friday for the Boston Marathon bombing, sweeping aside pleas that he was just a '€œkid'€ who had fallen under the influence of his fanatical older brother.

The decision '€” which came just over two years after the April 15, 2013, bombing that killed three people and wounded more than 260 '€” brought relief and grim satisfaction to many in Boston.

Your comments:

Will killing him stop future attacks of this nature? No. Will it erase the horror of the day, or the losses suffered?

No. Will this person ever be in a position to do this again? No. Maybe there is a list of questions with positive answers, but I am struggling to think of any.

While I am against the death penalty for unintentional or accidental cause of death, this case is pretty straightforward.

He has to pay for the death and suffering of the victims with his life.

Apparently that'€™s what you deserve for, by your own admission, attacking innocent people.

Once you step over the line and start killing people then you deserve the death penalty.

Deddy K

Even the victim'€™s parents understand the death penalty will not give them any satisfaction.

Some who have pushed for this execution are desperate to garner public approval. It is ironic in many ways. Even more so since the death penalty is being picked up again as a tool by some people that are convinced it'€™ll satisfy their safety needs; bloodthirsty revenge maybe.

And some others use it for their own political gains.

And if he were to harm another inmate or prison official while incarcerated, what then? The death penalty has the benefit of zero recidivism.

People who advocate incarceration have an '€œout of sight, out of mind'€ mentality.

There is a belief that these people are no longer criminals, no longer a threat to anyone.

This is untrue. Execute him, both by the law of the US and sharia law.

I advocate life imprisonment because I consider it a worse punishment in many ways and I just cannot support the killing.

My opinion doesn'€™t really matter though!

President Obama, get ready for an Australian backlash.
