Comments on other issues: Attorney General promotes his son

Attorney General M. Prasetyo has promoted his son Bayu Adhi Nugroho to a strategic position at the Jakarta Prosecutor'€™s Office, a move that anticorruption activists suspect will pave the way for the son to further benefit from his father'€™s position.

Your comments:

In quote: '€œJob rotation is an ordinary practice at the AGO.'€ Yeah, and only given to the family members of those in power.

If this country wants to progress even further, it would be better to appoint people who are really suitable for critical positions both in the legislature and the government.

Just another day at the office, I'€™m afraid. It'€™s probably best just to leave Indonesian politics together with the ever-increasing systematic graft, corruption and inherent nepotistic post-filling solely to the Indonesian citizenry, as an entirety, to live with.

At least this way the people will really only have themselves and their own duly elected and non-elected leaders totally to blame when it all goes down the toilet. The country just appears to be taking more steps backward than in making any forward progress at all.

I don'€™t understand this! There'€™s nothing under the law that says he cannot promote his son. In fact, he can appoint his mother or sister or brother to any position in his ministry!

It happens all over the world, like at the UN and in the little red dot! For those who don'€™t know it, Lee Hsien Loong (the current Singaporean prime minister) is the son of Lee Kuan Yew.
