he Indonesia-Canada Bilateral Forum was launched in Jakarta on Tuesday with an aim of bringing together a group of more than 80 representatives from businesses, governments, academics and civil societies from both countries.
Under the theme 'Innovation and Change: Forging the New Indonesia-Canada Partnership', the forum will explore opportunities to further strengthen and expand bilateral partnership in areas such as investment, infrastructure, food and agriculture, financial services, education and regional security.
The two-day forum is jointly organized by Canada's Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and Indonesia's Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
'The Indonesia-Canada Bilateral Forum is another example of the increasing interest and opportunities that exist between our two countries', Canadian Ambassador Donald Bobiash said in a press statement on Tuesday.
The Canadian delegation includes, among others, the Canadian deputy minister of foreign affairs, Daniel Jean. (ren)(++++)
