BKPM head Franky Sibarani and Indonesian Consul General in Osaka Wisnu Edi Pratignyo signed the deal in Osaka on Sunday, Antara news agency reported.
Franky said that Japanese businesspeople in Osaka and its surrounding areas were keen to invest in Indonesia, especially the fisheries and shipyard sectors.
'The BKPM, through its representative in Tokyo, will intensify coordination to facilitate investors to be able to immediately invest in Indonesia,' he said.
To follow up on the agreement, the BKPM representative in Tokyo and the Osaka Consulate General intend to routinely hold investor forums and visit investors in Osaka.
Investors in Osaka reportedly frequently made inquiries about investment potential at the Consulate General in Osaka, which directed them to the BKPM representative in Tokyo.
