PDI-P not forcing Jokowi to reshuffle Cabinet, says lawmaker

I

ndonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) lawmaker Pramono Anung says that even though his party has made suggestions to President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo'€™s on reshuffling his Cabinet, the ultimate decision is Jokowi'€™s alone to make.

'€œAs the ruling party within the government, we have made suggestions. But we are not forcing the President to conduct a reshuffle. The prerogative to do so lies with the President and Vice President,'€ Pramono said on Tuesday at the House of Representatives complex in Jakarta.

When asked about possible candidates that the PDI-P had suggested to the President, Pramono refused to mention names. He has been rumored to have been suggested by the party as a new member of the Cabinet in any reshuffle that takes place.

Previously, Vice President Jusuf Kalla confirmed that there could be a Cabinet reshuffle sometime this year in response to public opinion and work performances of the ministers. (hhr)(++++)
