he upcoming wedding ceremony of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo' eldest son Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the 2009 Miss Surakarta, Selvi Ananda, is expected be attended by at least 4,000 guests.
The wedding will take place on June 11 and the country's VVIPs are expected to flock to the town where Jokowi served as mayor for seven years from 2005 to 2012.
Around 1,000 invitations will be allocated for Surakarta citizens, some for 2,000 Jokowi's volunteers and around 1,000 for state officials and politicians, according to Surakarta mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo, who is among members of the organizers.
'All of the guests will not come simultaneously at the same time. Guests from Surakarta and volunteers can only attend the afternoon reception," said Rudyatmo.
"VVIP guests, including foreign luminaries, will be received during the evening reception."
The media-shy Gibran has kept his relationship with Selvi private, despite dating for six years. (ren)(++++)
