esidents of Pinangsia, North Jakarta, attempted to pay a visit on Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama at his private residence in Pantai Mutiara, North Jakarta, late Tuesday to protest their eviction.
The residents, who lived on the Ciliwung Lama riverbank, were blocked from entering the compound by dozens of police officers guarding the gate.
After failing to meet Ahok, the protesters turned up at City Hall on Wednesday morning to confront Ahok, only to find the governor angry.
"Why did you come to my house at midnight? Are you trying to act like thugs with me? I'm very annoyed. Don't disturb my complex, I don't like that," Ahok told a protester, who was equally angry with him. (hhr)(++++)
