The Bambang Widjojanto case will proceed as the police expect to hand over Bambang's dossier to the prosecutors soon.
Bambang, who has been accused of directing witnesses to give false testimony in the West Kotawaringin election dispute being heard by the Constitutional Court in 2007, recently withdrew his pretrial petition at the South Jakarta District Court after losing hope that the police would halt their investigation into the case.
'In the immediate future, we will hand over Bambang's dossier to the prosecutor's office,' police spokesperson Insp. Gen. Charliyan was quoted as saying by kompas.com on Thursday.
He said the police would also hand over the former deputy chairman of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and several pieces of evidence in the case, including the written statements of several witnesses reportedly directed to give false testimony. (rms)(+++)
