ice President Jusuf Kalla asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to be cautious about naming someone a graft suspect due to the commission's recent losses in several pretrial hearings.
'In terms of trials, there is a losing side and a winning one. But the pretrial also has its positive aspect: the KPK must be extra-cautious. It should not act like people did in earlier ages when people sometimes just shot each other [without any evidence],' kompas.com quoted him as saying at the Vice Presidential Office on Thursday.
The commission suffered several losses when the South Jakarta District Court invalidated the suspect status of former police chief hopeful Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, former Makassar mayor lham Arief Sirajuddin and former director general of tax Hadi Purnomo. (rms)(+++)
