10 prisoners found to have consumed drugs in penitentiary

At least 10 inmates of Pamekasan narcotics penitentiary on Madura Island, East Java, have tested positive for drugs.

Pamekasan Police spokesman First Insp. Muhammad Ruslan said the 10 prisoners had been given urine tests and were arrested early Friday morning.

"They're now having urine tests at Pamekasan General Hospital," Ruslan said as quoted by Antara news agency on Friday.

Ruslan said the arrests were conducted in response to information received about drugs circulating at the penitentiary.

He declined to name the arrested prisoners. (hhr)(++++)
