The Jakarta administration will record tenants of all apartments in a move to contain rampant prostitution in the capital city.
The head of the Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency, Edison Sianturi, said in Jakarta on Friday that apartment tenants were expected to cooperate with the personnel tasked with recording them.

The government is removing all freedoms. And if articles are correct, am I correct to assume that all Indonesians are either drug suppliers, addicts, or are involved in prostitution?

This has nothing to do with prostitution. I lived in China for more than 10 years before coming here. People think the Chinese have no freedom, but there they have much more freedom than here.
Indonesia is similar to what I presume North Korea is like. I don't know if the system here is to help the police extort people, or if they want all the data in case of a revolution.
Village heads in the past had not been able to monitor apartments, now Big Brother has found a way.
