Camera giant Canon Inc
amera giant Canon Inc., with PT. Datascrip as the sole Indonesian distributor, has released their two newest digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras that offer 50.6 megapixel resolution, currently the highest among all their DSLR products.
'We hope this new launch can be a new solution for the photographers who need ultra high resolution pictures and extreme cropping with the DSLR camera but without having to deal with the big and heavy medium format cameras,' PT Datascrip division manager of Canon Image Communications Sintra Wong told the press on Saturday.
Both cameras, which are in the middle range of the Canon product line, offer highly detailed pictures with their own unique technology.
The Canon EOS 5DS is equipped with an optical low pass filter that minimizes the distortion in the picture and enhances the detailed display of images.
The Canon EOS 5DSR, on the other hand, excels in landscape photography with natural colors, as it is equipped with a low pass filter effect cancellation that captures all colors to maintain the detail of a photo.
Both cameras are also equipped with mirror vibration control systems to avoid blurry photos, as well as DIGIC 6 processors to take 5 frames per second (fps).
Canon currently has the biggest market share of DSLR cameras in Indonesia at approximately 60 percent, Sintra told The Jakarta Post.
PT Datascrip aims to make 50 combined sales per month for these two new cameras, which will be available in late June.
PT Datascrip sold 180,000 DSLR cameras within the Indonesian market in 2014.
The EOS 5DS is Rp 55 million (US$4,161) while the 5DSR is slightly more expensive at Rp 58 million. (fsu)(++++)
