Your letters: Does FIFA support PSSI'€™s wrongdoings?

T

his refers to an article titled '€œFIFA rejects Indonesia'€™s request for meeting,'€ (The Jakarta Post, May 24, p11).

When the Indonesian government steps up the game to sack PSSI officials and bring on major changes, FIFA prevents them and penalizes the good actions of Indonesian government. I don'€™t understand why FIFA does not support good change to happen in the current state of Indonesian soccer. The PSSI is like a parasite and has a mafia status that controls Indonesian clubs.

FIFA should not interfere with Indonesian national soccer undergoing reformation. The Indonesian government is stepping up in reforming the PSSI for its atrocious acts.

Formerly the PSSI has been accused of match fixing, players'€™ salaries have not been paid in over six months, foreign players stay illegally in the country for years, soccer clubs have not had registration licenses for decades, no accounting is performed at all among several soccer clubs, no taxes are paid by soccer clubs, and payroll income taxes among foreign players are not being reported or are reported too low.

The PSSI allows all of this to happen in soccer clubs. The Indonesian government is giving severe penalties to the PSSI at the moment. FIFA does not like the Indonesian government interfering with the PSSI and penalizes back.

So, does this mean FIFA is supporting all of the PSSI'€™s wrongdoings and violations above?
