he Bekasi city administration will increase its building permit (IMB) fee from Rp 10,000 (76 US cents) to Rp 25,000 per meter through a newly revised bylaw.
The head of the Bekasi City Council's legislation body, Abdul Muin Hafied, said on Monday that the legislature was currently discussing the draft bylaw with relevant parties, including developers.
'The increased fee is aimed at increasing the administration's revenues,' he said as quoted by tempo.co, adding that the administration had pocketed Rp 60 billion in revenues from the IMB last year.
Abdul went on to say that the administration would also regulate building permit fees for renovating or redesigning buildings.
'If the change is less than 60 percent from its previous design, the IMB adjustment process will be free of charge,' he said, adding that renovations that result in over 60 percent change would be charged as stipulated in the new bylaw.
