Barcelona defender Dani Alves renewed his contract Tuesday to play with the club for two more seasons.
The Brazil international's contract was to expire on June 30, but the club said it has been extended to the end of June 2017, with an option to add a third season.
The 32-year-old right back, who joined the team from Sevilla in July 2008, had said last month that negotiations had not been going well.
Alves formed part of a Barcelona squad that completed the treble on Saturday by winning the Champions League.
Alves will line up next season alongside defender Jordi Alba, who on Monday extended his contract at Barcelona through June 2020, with a buyout clause fixed at 150 million euros (US$170 million).
Spain forward Pedro Rodriguez extended his contract through 2019 with a similar buyout clause.
After winning the Spanish league and Copa del Rey titles, Barcelona became the first team to win the Champions League and its two main domestic competitions in the same season on two separate occasions. Barcelona first achieved the feat in 2009.(+++)
